Shirodhara Treatment

Shirodhara is one of the most powerful healing treatments in Ayurveda. It is the warm oil stream flow over the forehead and hair in a gentle and rhythmic manner (between 30 and 45 minutes). It is preceded by a Shiroabhyanga (head massage) and a Mukhaabhyanga (face and neck massage). It encourages letting go while giving a sense of well-being and serenity.It helps in reducing emotional tensions.

It is especially recommended for Vata imbalances. Shirodhara has a purifying effect on the mental level. It helps in elimination of toxins thereby purifies then stimulates and regenerates. It acts on old skin, soothes, regenerates and beautifies the skin.

The oil is choosed depending on the constitution of the person. It can be pure or medicated.
