Neerabhyangam

Neerabhyangam is a massage that stimulates the lymphatic system and eliminates excess toxic fluids from every part of the body. The retained fluids must be brought to the lymph nodes and eliminated through the lymphatic system.

The lymphatic system (Lasica tantra) consists of the network of lymphatic channels (Udakavaha Srotas), lymph nodes (Lasica granthi), and lymphatic organs (the spleen and thymus). The lymphatic channels carry the clear fluid called lymph. This fluid is distributed to all cells of the immune system and other organs throughout the body. The lymphatic channels (Udakavaha Srotas) interact with the circulatory channels of the blood (Raktavaha Srotas) to drain fluids collected by cells and tissues.
